Local document processing

Renamo is designed for private, local document workflows. PDFs and images you open in the app are processed on your Mac so Renamo can help extract fields and rename files.

Otato GmbH does not receive, upload, store, or review your documents, file contents, extracted text, filename patterns, or renamed files as part of normal app use.

No account required

You do not need to create an account to use Renamo. We do not build a user profile from your document activity, and we do not sell personal data.

Website and download data

When you visit renamo.app, docs.renamo.app, or download the app, our hosting and download providers may process basic technical data such as your IP address, browser, device type, requested URL, and timestamp. This is used to deliver the site, protect it from abuse, and understand whether downloads are working.

Renamo's website may link to external sites, including Otato GmbH at otato.app. Those sites are governed by their own privacy practices.

Support messages

If you contact us for support, we process the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, screenshots, logs, or sample files. Please do not send confidential documents unless you want us to inspect them for support.

We use support information to answer your request, troubleshoot the issue, and improve Renamo.

Cookies and analytics

Renamo does not require cookies or an account for the app's document renaming workflow.

We use PostHog hosted in the European Union to understand how Renamo is used and how we can improve it. Analytics may include product interactions, feature usage, device or app version information, and similar technical events.

We never track document data. PDFs, images, extracted text, filename patterns, filenames, and renamed files are not sent to PostHog.

Retention

Because Renamo does not upload your documents to Otato GmbH, we do not retain them. Website logs and support messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security, operations, support, legal compliance, or business records.

Your choices

You control the documents you open in Renamo and the renamed files saved on your Mac. You can delete local app data using macOS tools or by removing the app.

You may contact us at hello@renamo.app if you want to ask about privacy, request access to information you sent us, or ask us to delete support correspondence where possible.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Renamo changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
